Barry X Ball  (b. 1955)

Barry X Ball (b.1955) is an American contemporary sculptor known for work executed using rare exotic stones and innovative sculpting techniques. Born in Pasadena, CA his artistic career started as a painter, but it was ultimately sculpture that would become his main medium. Barry X Ball currently lives and works in New York. Over the last 35 years, his work has been widely exhibited and is represented in many public and private collections.

 

Barry X Ball utilizes elaborate sculpting methods, to perfect the traditional practice of figurative sculpture. Making use of the clinical precision of today’s very latest technology, Ball, brings the past straight into the world of the present through painstakingly-crafted, 3D digitally-scanned reproductions, recreations, and reinventions of some of the greatest of Italy’s sculptural masterpieces. Barry X Ball currently works out of his studio in Brooklyn, New York.
